about this piece
"Ting" refers to a shallow beach on the water's edge; "zhi" to a small islet in the water. Continuing the series' core theme of natural waterfront living. The glaze, like a deep, still pool, is serene and understated, corresponding to the imagery of a tranquil, solitary island. Inheriting the series' signature three-legged structure, it sheds the mottled marks of kiln firing, returning to a single, clear glaze. The round ceramic tabletop is fully covered with a smooth, even celadon glaze, the surface exhibiting a subtle, ripple-like texture, its color deep and understated. Slender black metal legs extend outwards, their spherical feet lightly touching the ground. The lightweight frame supports the substantial ceramic tabletop, achieving a balance between weight and lightness. Like a solitary island in still water, it rests peacefully in a corner of the space.
